Brotherhood

Purpose in Action

Founded in 1933, the Temple Brotherhood of Emanu-El has spent generations as a dedicated service arm of our congregation. While the world has changed since Rabbi Joseph Baron first gathered our founders, our core mission remains steady: to exemplify Jewish values through fellowship, fundraising, and meaningful volunteerism. We believe in giving back for the greater good—not just for our own Congregation, but for the entire Milwaukee community.

A Legacy of Impact

Your support allows us to invest in the future of Jewish life and the well-being of our neighbors. Temple Brotherhood consistently provides significant financial support to essential initiatives, including:

  • Synagogue Innovation: Funding technology and infrastructure to keep our sanctuary and community connected.
  • Youth & Education: Providing scholarships for students to attend Jewish summer camps, fostering the next generation of Reform Jews.
  • Community & Global Support: Contributing to emergency medical response in Israel and supporting local educational and civic organizations in Milwaukee.

Connection Through Programming

We believe that building community should be as joyful as it is grounded. From hosting festive Onegs and holiday celebrations to organizing sporting outings and social dinners, we create spaces where our congregants can connect without pretense. We also proudly host the annual Veterans Shabbat, a meaningful tradition where we honor the military biographies of our congregants and their families.

Support the Brotherhood

Temple Brotherhood is fueled by the generosity of our members. By joining or becoming an Elite Sponsor, you ensure that we can continue to grow our impact and support our congregation for years to come.

  • Basic Membership: Annual dues that support our core mission.
  • Silver, Gold, & Platinum Sponsorships: These elite tiers offer deeper levels of support for youth programs and community events, often including tickets to our signature annual outings.
