First Friday Family Shabbat

Meaningful, Manageable, and Made for Your Family

We know Friday nights can be hectic. That’s why on the first Friday of every month, we’ve redesigned our Shabbat service to fit the rhythm of your life. At Emanu-El, you don’t have to choose between a sacred Jewish experience and a manageable bedtime.

A Service That Moves at your Speed

  • One Hour: A quick, spirited 6:00 PM service that respects your schedule.
  • Stories, Not Sermons: Our clergy shares captivating stories instead of traditional sermons to engage all ages.
  • Come As You Are: Whether you’re coming from work or soccer practice, you belong here exactly as you are.

Join us to welcome Shabbat in a way that feels intentional, joyful, and accessible.

Come for the community, stay for the connection.

Torah Tots

Select Sunday Mornings | 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM

Torah Tots is a monthly family learning program designed for children ages 2-4 and their grownups. It’s a wonderful way to experience the joy of Jewish learning together while building lasting friendships with other preschool families. Get a “sneak peek” of religious school in a warm, age-appropriate environment.

Stay in the loop: To receive updates on upcoming events, contact the Lifelong Learning Office at 414-228-7545 or email Rabbi Barolsky.

Tot Shabbat

A Joyful Celebration for Our Youngest Members

Join us for a high-energy, 30-minute sing-along service filled with music and instruments! Perfect for young children and their families, each session is followed by a meal, a creative craft, and plenty of playtime.

We know family schedules are busy, so we rotate our gatherings: sometimes we meet late Friday afternoon to welcome Shabbat, and other times we gather on Saturday mornings. Check our calendar to find the next celebration!
